The script

This book discusses the history of Hangeul (the Korean script), from its principles of creation to the present. While selecting the topic for this project, the editor/designer realized the scarcity of books about Hangeul written in languages other than Korean. However, as evident in this book, Hangeul is not just the script of a particular country; it is a uniquely local and scientific writing system. It is one of the few scripts with a known creator, and its creation principles are well-documented, providing insight into the process. Therefore, the editor/designer aimed to create this book to spark the reader’s interest in Hangeul. As a Korean user of Hangeul, the editor/designer’s goal is to promote its existence widely, highlighting its graphic beauty and the hidden intellect behind it.
